School: notes for an electoral program

A more complex society requires more knowledge. Teachers and teaching are, therefore, the cardinal points on the route towards future. To keep up with the world and win challenges that requires (or requires) us to know is know-how more and better. And the training the pivot on which we must leverage. There poor literacy and theinability to understand even texts of low difficulty (so the OECD tells us) concern the majority of the population, which is, therefore, unprepared to face the ever-increasing complexity of global phenomena, and to be able to find an escape route from the crisis, instead ending up becoming easy prey for populisms more varied.

Awareness is widespread knowledge they are the tools to build a more efficient and competitive Lombardy. Priority interventions must concern the peripheral and disadvantaged areas: here - where it is most difficult to teach - the best schools must be found, and the drama ofschool dropout must necessarily be addressed. And you could also rediscover the schools of arts and crafts, music, theatre, drawing, which also populated small urban centers in the last century.

But the priority is, among other things, to offer adult training, those who feel the need to improve their material and cultural condition and who still want to get involved. It's not just about spending more money on school but about spend them better, establishing the right order in priority. More will follow quality and excellence for everyone and of all.

Ps

Regarding the drama of illiteracy and illiteracy returning to Italy, I refer to the book T. De Mauro, The culture of the Italians, The third. Of which you can find an interesting summary in this one interview.
